TDS started its PBL journey in 2001 by clarifying how PBL pedagogy
and the design process work together. John Kompa, Associate Consultant
for PBL at TDS in cooperation with TP’s international advisors,
Prof. Howard Barrows and Prof. Donald Woods, has formulated and published
this theoretical groundwork.
In August 2003 a workgroup was set up to strategise the practical
implementation of PBL for TDS.
It was decided to get all design courses move in tandem as far as
possible with their PBL practices and approach.

In September 04, a new workgroup was set up with a main mandate of getting TDS staff PBL trained so that the full benefits of PBL can be optimized for design students as a complement to our design process.
