Awards
The
School won The Enterprise Challenge Award in November of 2000 from
the Prime Minister's office for the project titled:
Educational Innovation for the Knowledge Based Economy.
The Enterprise Challenge Award recognizes efforts in innovation that
serve as examples that others can learn and emulate. This was an
award that the Diploma in Marketing team won for driving PBL as an
innovative methodology that could help change the face of the
graduate and meet the new challenges in the working world.
In
November 2003, Temasek Polytechnic received The Enterprise Challenge
Shield from the Prime Minister’s Office for successfully bringing to
fruition the development of a Problem-Based Learning Education
Model. The award recognizes the most outstanding team whose project
has created the highest new value to the Public Service. The PBL
Education Model developed by Temasek Polytechnic was considered to
have service-wide application and have been successfully tested.
The award testifies to the success of Temasek Polytechnic in its PBL
initiative.
Final
year marketing students have for two consecutive years (2001 &
2002), become the Asia-Pacific champions for the integrated
marketing communication proposals in the International Advertising
Association competitions held in New York.
In the
meantime, staff from the Temasek Business School has published
articles and books to advance and share the PBL experience. The
Thinking Taskforce, the key driving force of PBL in Temasek Business
School, aims to encourage research circles and get the faculty
committed to research and new discoveries in PBL.
