The PBL Process
This is a training video that demonstrates how students go through a PBL tutorial process with a facilitator. There are 7 stages that a PBL group experiences. This video clip demonstrates the activities the students and facilitator go through in each of the stages.

Introduction to PBL Process

Stage 1: Introducing members; Ground Rules and Expectations
Group introduces members; set ground rules; norm expectations of PBL student and tutor.

Stage 2: Identifying the problem
Group identifies the facts of the problem; summarises the gist of problem.

Stage 3-5: Generating Ideas and Learning Issues
Group brainstorms on ideas, causes, hypotheses on the problem; decides on Action Plan; agrees on Learning Issues; review of sources of information.

Stage 6: Synthesising and developing the solution
After research, group applies and learns about the knowledge in order to develop a solution for the problem.

Stage 7: Group and Self Reflection
Group conducts self and group reflection on problem solving skills, self-directed learning skills, solution, learning of new knowledge and tutor facilitation skils.
